Sixth session of the Escola de pensament, following the idea of fighting apocalyptic narrative. Moderated by Marina Garcés and Albert Lladó, we talked about say with Cristina Garcia Molina.

Cristina Garcia Molina (Granollers, 1975) is a professor of language and literature and teaches writing at the Escola d'Escriptura de l'Ateneu Barcelonès. In 2014 he won the Premi Literari Ciutat de Badalona with the volume of stories Silenci a taula (Vienna Edicions). She is also the author of the children’s texts of Plou... però quin sol! (La Meceua). In 2022 she published Els irredempts (Labreu Edicions). With this work he was a finalist for the Premi Finestres de narrativa en lengua catalana and later won the Llibreter prize (2023). He has published short stories in several anthologies and in the portal Paper de Vidre. He has trained in dramaturgy in the Obrador of the Sala Beckett.

Kidnapped by the stories that only know how to announce the end of the world, the idea of the future has been collapsed by a present that only knows how to relate to it from despondency, discouragement or, even worse, indifference. Joy, we know, is still a disobedient act and, once the traps of an empty happiness have been detected, the ability to play continues to be an incorruptible tool of creation and criticism, of the scene and of thought. The Escola de pensament invites us, then, to wake up in the links from the gesture and the word, as spaces of commitment and attempt.
