Description

The resident company this season, Íntims Produccions, is proposing a physical and visual version of the famous story by Nikolai V. Gogol for puppet theatre. A wordless story.

Akaky works and devotes himself to what he does heart and soul, but life doesn’t turn out the way he expected. He is plunged into instability and material poverty. Still, he tries to be happy with what he has, treat people well and enjoy the beauty of the world. Winter is astonishingly cold where he lives, and his overcoat, the only one he has, is getting old and doesn’t keep him warm the way it used to. Akaky asks his boss for an advance so he can buy a new one for the winter, although he doesn’t know how he is going to pay him back. With the help of a quirky tailor who makes him an extraordinary anorak, he is happy for a few days: it seems that everything has been going better for him since he’s been wearing this anorak. But the good times don’t last…
