We return to the story of dictator Francisco Franco, told to children, premiered last season. What is lifelike in a dictatorship of squares, where triangles and circles are not free? This is an exercise in memory, and a reflection on the dynamics of dictatorship, based on Ximo Abadía’s illustrated book entitled Frank. La increíble historia de una dictadura olvidada [Frank. The incredible story of a forgotten dictatorship] (Dibbuks 2017) which was awarded the XIX Booksellers’ Award in 2018.


In a dictatorship of squares, which has been established by restricting the freedom of triangles and circles, Frank invites the audience to join in the game and follow its rules. But every act has its consequences. This is a theatrical game about power and history for children over 7 years old. And an exercise in memory and reflection: how far do dictatorial dynamics extend in our society?
