Description

After Le congrès ne marche pas, La Calòrica arrives in Montjuïc with an existential and political comedy, individual and collective. Anxiety, connection and the desperate need to have perfectly standard new experiences.

An old mountain hotel in the middle of nowhere. Some have come from far away to hear the majestic deer’s bellow; all the guides describe it as a unique experience. Others have come simply to celebrate their grandmothers’ seventieth birthday, to close an important real-estate deal or to try to save their marriage with a threesome. There is also a group of stage creators who are hoping to spend a few days debating political theatre’s potential to transform society, and two girls lost in the forest searching for an ancient drug and secret celebration which is said to be held there.
Many stories and intersecting characters: some of them paralysed by a sense of emptiness, others needing to escape the noise… But they are all alone in the world, or that’s what they think. Meantime, the days go by and nobody has heard the deer’s bellow yet. Where have they ended up?
