Description

After Bonus Track, Carol López takes a look to Dangerous Liaisons (1988) characters. The novel, written by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos in 1782, is a tour de force falling between cold reason, licentiousness and feelings.

Valmont wants to sleep with the Marquise of Merteuil who rejects him because he wants to do it with Tourvel, who does not want to do it because she is a married and virtuous woman. Then she sleeps with the virginal Cécile who actually wants to do it with the young Danceny, of whom she is madly in love... What begins as a perfectly calculated strategy will become a drama when feelings come into play.

Carol López was trained at the Barcelona Theatre Institute, and made her début at the Lliure in 2005 with V.O.S. In 2008, she was awarded a Max Prize, two Butaca Prizes and a Barcelona Critics Award for Germanes. She was the artistic director of La Villarroel theatre from 2010 to 2013. In her productions, she often works with cinematic codes and references transferred to the stage.
