Description
Com observar un cel nocturn [How to Observe the Night Sky] is a performance talk in which the curator Alexandra Laudo discusses astronomical phenomena and highlights in the history of astronomy (in particular what was, historically, one of the most important astronomical observatories in Europe, the former Calton Hill Observatory in Edinburgh) in relation to philosophical reflections about the night, darkness and our ways of seeing things.
During the tour, Laudo also tells us about different artworks that have explored these issues and so constructs a tale that is also a curatorial exercise and a narrated exhibition. This work combines references to astronomy, history and visual culture through narrative strategies and so blurs the lines between curatorial performance, art exhibitions and academic talks.
