Susanne Kennedy versioned Three Sisters by Chekhov under the premise of eternal return. Do we want to control our future or free ourselves from repetition?
In collaboration with the Festival SÂLMON, sensitive to the new scenic dramaturgies, on Thursday 30 January at 21.30h (after the performance) we will hold an encounter between Helena Eckert (dramaturg of Drei Schwestern), El Conde de Torrefiel and Álex Peña, mediated by Albert Boronat (dramaturg) under the title La dramatúrgia contemporània a Europa, complicitats entre dramaturgs i dramaturgistes en la construcció de l’escena actual. The Dutch director Susanne Kennedy brings performative installations based on theatrical texts to the stage. She has worked with authors including Henrik Ibsen, Enda Walsh, Sarah Kane and R.W. Fassbinder, among others. In 2013, she was selected as Young Director of the Year by Theater Heute magazine, and she received a New Theatrical Realities Europe Prize in 2017. She has been a permanent associate director at the Volksbühne in Berlin since the 17/18 season. Her most recent works include Die Selbstmord-Schwestern/The Virgin Suicides, based on the novel by Jeffrey Eugenides.
