Odissea

A collective journey in which the choir, in all its possible meanings, will be the centre and muscle of a living and changing song, of a music that should be shelter and response, shelter and channel to tell that, to return to being a community, It is not necessary to deny the past to create a more just future, that we can tell it with our new vocabulary and get excited along the way.

Too far, predictable, androcentric and heteronormative… Easy to accept by the ancient Greeks, but difficult to digest 3,000 years later. Just like so many other plays, like so many other stories of the past that have become great and canonical in our culture, how can we reinterpret it now that doubt has been cast on the structures and values of the recent past centuries? What determines our coexistence if marriage and family are fading? How can we interpret a play whose cornerstones are family and extremely alpha masculinity? And even further: What father figures do we carry with us, and to what extent are their strengths and weakness, fears and misdeeds etched on our genes? Changing our environment beginning with our own interior: that is the true Odyssey.
