RECOMMENDED SHOW

by the Educational Programme

The multifaceted Jordi Oriol (musician, author, director and actor) is offering a monologue inspired by the myth of Sisyphus, a sonata on the power of deceit and the need for art.

In Greek mythology, Sisyphus is considered the most astute human when he tricks Hades and kidnaps Thanatos to avoid death. In retaliation, he is punished with an interminable task: pushing a rock up a mountain, and when it reaches the top, it always rolls back down. The Sisyphus of today knows he is trapped in the incessant workings of capitalistic society, always unsatisfied. This show is an ode to the vein effort of someone who is plunged into this contemporary subjugation and incapable of understanding the world yet continues to push the rock up the mountain. And still, he more or less turns to art to not die of the truth.
